The minerals in shark teeth are replaced naturally by other minerals in rocks and soil. Therefore making them a darker color and washing up on the beach! When the customer says “I really want to see a manatee” we always say we’ll try our best to find them. I think Captain John was in the right place at the right time! We had about 15 manatees swim alongside everyone snorkeling the grass bed nursery! Manatees are highly protected so we do not touch them or swim after them but they are so curious they like to get up close with you! Such an amazing experience! Egmont Key today was B-E-A-UTIFUL! Red Tide is present is some areas still south of us but everything around Anna Maria out to Egmont Key was clear. No fish, no smell, no coughing. This was Today on the South end of Anna Maria Island at a sandbar called Jewfish Key. It was sunny, clear waters, and not a lot of Red Tide. There was some patches still that you do have to drive through that can be pretty smelly but not as bad as the past week. Red Tide Update: Today was Beautiful! The south end of Anna Maria Island and towards Longboat key is a lot worse than North of Anna Maria. These videos are today out by Egmont Key State Park, the island we go to North of Anna Maria. There a few fish floating around but no major signs of Red Tide. Cormorants feathers easily get waterlogged unlike other birds, which allows them to dive deeper for their fish. “We had a blast Snorkeling with the Manatee!” Great trip snorkeling the ruins of Fort Dade especially with our surprise guest! A manatee popped up right in the middle of the group while snorkeling and didn’t leave for nearly 20 minutes. We instructed the group to stay calm, Don’t Touch, and just float and let the manatee pass through but….it didn’t pass through! It hung out for a while before waving goodbye. LOOK at this Beautiful baby Seahorse we found today on the sandbar! ☀️ While we were scooping up shells, this little guy found it’s way in one of the kids nets. We carefully took it out and released it back to the sea grass beds! Did You Know??…The Male Seahorse will carry the eggs in his pouch for 2-3 weeks before giving birth.
